Common Problems and Solutions for Using LED Plant Grow Lights

1. Application of LED plant grow lights

The LED plant lights used in the fields of plant tissue culture, seedling cultivation, growth, and supplementary light are rich in wavelength types, which are just in line with the spectral range of plant photosynthesis and light morphology; the spectral wave width is narrow at half width, and can be combined as needed to obtain pure monochromatic light and compound spectral, concentrated light of specific wavelength to irradiate crops in a balanced manner, not only can adjust the flowering and fruiting of crops, but also control the height of the plant and the nutrient content of the plant; the system generates less heat and occupies a small space, which can be used in a multi-layer cultivation three-dimensional combination system to  achieve low heat load and miniaturization of production space. In addition, the extreme durability of LED plant lights also reduces operating costs.


2. When LED plant grow lights turn yellow:

The yellowing of the outer sealant of the LED plant grow lights is mainly due to the mismatch between the epoxy resin and the curing agent. But it cannot be ruled out that the baking time of the external sealant is too long.


Solution: The LED grow light manufacturer can purchase a complete set of external sealants and curing agents, add new production controls, strictly follow the operating instructions, and prevent the baking time from being too long or insufficient.


3. Common problems of using LED plant grow lights

(1) Generally, three 1W aluminum grow light panels are driven by about 12V, rarely used directly for 220V. If a constant current source may lack a 12V drive power supply, in the absence of sunlight, the plant light can act as sunlight, so that the plant can grow normally or better. The plant grow light can make roots strong, enhance growth, regulate the flowering period and flower color, promote fruit maturity, coloring, and improve the taste and quality of the fruit!


(2) The high-power 1W driving current of the LED plant grow light is about 350 mA, and the working voltage is between 3.2 ≤ 3.6V. Please be careful when using it. If the current is too high, the lamp will burn.


(3) The filament of the LED plant grow light is shortened, telling you very clearly that your light has been burned by a large current, which is commensurate with the broken circuit.


(4) There are two filaments up and down, called gold filaments, made of pure gold, and used for conductive purposes. Two are positive poles and two are negative poles. A really good LED plant grow light will have a fifth filament, which is welded to the Zener tube to perform maintenance.
